Our challenges are not just about distance, height, medals or finish lines. They are part of how we rebuild, grow, and live with intention.
From mountains and ultra-distance events to long-distance travel dreams, each challenge has become a way of proving that life can still change, even when it has felt heavy.
We are not elite athletes. We are two ordinary people choosing to do hard things, follow what feels true, and build a life with fewer regrets.
This page brings together the challenges we have completed, the ones we are working towards now, and the bigger dreams still ahead.
Each of these challenges is more than just a physical feat. They are symbols of hope, grit and recovery. We’re doing this not to break records for glory, but to break through the limits people place on themselves. To prove that healing is possible. That starting over is possible. That something beautiful can come from the broken.
2026 focus is Midlife Ultra: The Weight We Carry.
Stephen is training for a 100-mile endurance challenge around Kielder Water in Northumberland, four marathon-distance loops with roughly 10,000 feet of elevation gain.
But Midlife Ultra is about more than running and loosing weight. It is about the physical, mental and emotional weight we carry through life, and what happens when we decide to move forward anyway.
It is a challenge about resilience, mental health, rebuilding in midlife, and choosing to live with fewer regrets.

100 km of Coastal Beauty and Brutality
On May 17-18, 2025, we’ll take on the 100 km (62 mile) Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge, a two-day endurance test along one of the most breath taking and rugged coastlines in the UK.
We’ll be carrying our own nutrition, running where we can, walking the climbs, and moving together the whole way. This isn’t just a race, it’s a mental and physical checkpoint in our journey. A test of our training, our mindset, and our fuel systems.
This challenge marks the beginning of something much bigger, a year of pushing limits and rewriting what’s possible.
WE DID IT! You can find out more in Terri’s blog here.
On May 17, 2025, we completed the 100 km Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge – 64.52 miles with 8,987 feet of elevation gain along one of the most beautiful and brutal coastlines in the UK.
We ran where we could, walked the climbs, and kept moving until the finish.
This was more than a race. It was a major checkpoint in our journey – proof that consistency, training, teamwork and stubborn belief can carry you further than you once thought possible.
A World Record Attempt – 3 Everests in 7 Days
On June 21, 2025, we will begin what may be one of the most demanding self-supported mountain endurance challenge we ever attempted in the UK we are calling it:
The Three Peaks Everest Challenge.
The goal?
To climb the full height of three Mount Everests – a total of 26,544 meters (87,121 feet) of elevation gain – within seven consecutive days.
Stephen will do this by repeatedly summiting the UK’s three highest mountains:
This challenge isn’t based on peak heights – it’s based on real elevation gained. No shortcuts, no vehicles, no support teams. Just us, our legs, and sheer willpower. All tracked on Strava. All following Leave No Trace principles.
This is more than an ultra.
It’s a statement: that even after illness, addiction and pain, you can rise higher than ever before.
This is our Everest.
The Three Peaks Everest Challenge was one of the biggest endurance ideas we have ever taken on.
It was brutal: repeated ascents, limited recovery, huge elevation, long travel between mountains, and seven days to try to complete the full attempt.
Stephen started the challenge and made it to summit 11.
He did not finish and that was hard to accept….
TPEC still became part of our story. It taught us about ambition, limits, preparation, disappointment, resilience, and the courage it takes to start something when the outcome is not guaranteed.
It remains one of the hardest things we have attempted — and one of the reasons we keep moving forward.

The Pacific Crest Trail remains one of our great long-distance hiking dreams.
Stretching from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington, the PCT covers around 2,650 miles / 4,265 km of wilderness. It crosses mountains, deserts, forests and some of the most iconic landscapes in the western United States.
For us, the PCT represents everything we love about adventure: wild places, simple living, physical challenge, sleeping under the stars, and the chance to strip life back to what really matters.
At one point, we hoped to take on the trail in 2026.
But life does not always move in a straight line.
Our plans changed, and we had to be honest about where we were. Taking on a five-to-six-month hike across the United States is not just about fitness or desire. It is about timing, finances, logistics, responsibility, and making sure the life around the dream is ready too.
And most importantly, it has to work for all three of us.
Coco is part of us, not an afterthought. We cannot simply leave her behind for six months to chase a dream that is supposed to represent freedom, love and intentional living. If we do this, we want to do it in a way that feels right for all of us.
So the PCT remains part of our bigger journey – not as a cancelled plan, but as a dream still waiting for the right chapter.
Because the outdoors heals.
Because big dreams remind us we are still alive.
Because we no longer want to just exist – we want to live.
The PCT is not just a trail. It is a symbol of a life rewritten by choice, courage, patience, and maybe just enough madness to keep believing it is possible.
And when the time is right, we would love to take you with us, every step of the way
And we’d love to take you with us, every step of the way.
If these challenges resonate with you – if you have ever felt stuck, lost, or like life had more to offer – we would love to have you with us.
We take on these endurance challenges not just to test ourselves, but to show what can happen when you choose to keep moving forward, even when life has felt heavy. Every run, climb, setback and finish line is part of something bigger: a life rebuilt with purpose, honesty and fewer regrets.
Support the charity
Through our challenges, we are proud to support causes connected to mental health, addiction recovery and people facing difficult life circumstances. These causes matter to us because we know how powerful support can be when someone is struggling, stuck, or trying to take the first step towards change.
If you are able to donate, every contribution helps make the challenge bigger than just us.
You can also support us by following the journey, sharing our story, cheering us on, or sending a message when the miles get hard.
That kind of support genuinely means more than you know.
